Hello, my name is Pavla and I am the creator and founder of The Gingerbread Girl. I’m originally from the Czech Republic. Traditional gingerbread is such a massive part of our culture and I decided to bring this beautiful tradition to Australia, however, with a twist.
Armed with a passion for nutrition, a belief that food is our medicine and having a new born beautiful little boy, I wanted create a healthy special treat that I would feel comfortable giving him anytime of the day. So, I recreated the recipe by replacing sugar with dates and adding medicinal mushrooms to an already existing amazing mix of herbs and spices, to produce a wonderful functional snack that you will be comfortable sharing with your little ones and friends, anytime of day or night 🙂
