The Story of the GingerBread Girl
Hello, my name is Pavla and I am the creator and founder of The Gingerbread Girl. I’m originally from the Czech Republic. Traditional gingerbread is such a massive part of our culture and I decided to bring this beautiful tradition to Australia, however, with a twist.
Armed with a passion for nutrition, a belief that food is our medicine and having a new born beautiful little boy, I wanted to create a healthy special treat that I would feel comfortable giving him anytime of the day. So, I recreated the recipe by replacing sugar with dates and adding medicinal mushrooms to an already existing amazing mix of herbs and spices, to produce a wonderful functional snack that you will feel guilt free and happy sharing with your little ones and friends, anytime of day or night 🙂
Our recipes are created with real, honest ingredients that are closest to it’s natural state to bring you the best health benefits. May it be pure butter or stone ground organic flour, wild crafted reishi mushroom extract …
In today’s age, living in a world of allergies and intolerances, many customers kept asking me for a gingerbread version without eggs or dairy or gluten and so on. Oh, how I felt their pain! My journey to motherhood began with our little boy being allergic to so many things.
I pretty much lived on water and air those first few months of his life, trying to work out what I’m allowed to eat and find products, that would not only tick that box, also be healthy and tasty.
I worked my brain and embraced all the requirements to create our ALLERGY/ VEGAN friendly recipe.
It’s simply divine, if I say so myself 😉
Our allergy friendly gingerbread is Free of Eggs, Dairy, Nuts, Gluten and is Vegan friendly.
I believe that this is only the beginning of our gingerbread girl journey. There are many more recipes to be created and many, many, many more wonderful herbs and spices to be used to support and improve our health.
